Securewest International was formed over 21 years ago in 1987. Today the organisation provides a complete range of security services to the maritime industry worldwide supported by our offices in the UK, USA, Singapore, India and the Pacific together with a global network of investigative and legal practises.

Our investigators are either closely vetted former police officers with substantive detective experience or highly experienced investigators supported by maritime criminal lawyers.

Apart from the vast experience achieved by our former police officers whilst serving with their respective law enforcement agency Securewest International's investigation services has conducted many successful enquiries. A number are outlined as examples in Case Files.

Three key personnel of Securewest International's maritime investigation division are:


John Casson

 

John Casson is the Founder and President of Securewest International who served with distinction with the Devon & Cornwall Constabulary in the UK.

With twenty years of maritime experience he has successfully lead maritime related crime investigations both in the UK and overseas. He has a very good understanding of overcoming the difficulties of complex investigations in less than co-operative countries, hostile environments and the challenges of an enquiry crossing multi jurisdictions.


Bob Pennington


Bob Pennington served as an Assistant Chief Constable with the Devon & Cornwall Constabulary in the UK. With portfolios for major investigations, specialist operations and major incident, Bob has an unusual blend of investigative expertise and operational credibility rarely afforded.

During his career he has carried out numerous high profile inquiries including sensitive investigations overseas in hostile environments, led armed operations against terrorist suspects and criminals during which time achieving a wealth of knowledge, experience and contacts. Within the UK Bob had a 100% success rate for murder detection, was commended for his detection and conviction of an international drug cartel and is well versed in current law, techniques and procedures.


Alan Marr

 

Alan Marr served in London's Metropolitan Police for 30 years. During that time he was a senior investigator to the force's headquarters at New Scotland Yard on a number of occasions. He retired as a Detective Inspector and has established himself as an expert investigator and security consultant with worldwide maritime experience.

Alan is a Past Principal of the Institute of Professional Investigators and a Past President of the Council of International Investigators, a worldwide organisation. He is a visiting lecturer at both Loughborough and Coventry Universities in the UK. He is a board member of the Investigators Sector which is liaising with the Security Industry Authority on the future licensing of investigators.
